The successful implementation of the AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC) is a confirmation of the quality assurance that the organization needs to implement when implementing the requirements of the IATF 16949 standard.
APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) is a technique for planning, developing, preparing the production and production of an automotive component with an emphasis on error prevention, continuous improvement, and improvement of products that must meet customer requirements and anticipate them.
PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) establishes general requirements for the approval of the production of automotive components, including both production and non-manufactured materials.
FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) is a methodology for analyzing and identifying the most critical steps in the production processes for the purpose of product quality management.
SPC (Statistical Process Control) is a method of monitoring the production process using statistical tools for the purpose of managing product quality “directly in the production process”.
MSA (Measurement System Analysis) is a method designed to give an opinion on the acceptability of the measuring system used through the quantitative measurement of its characteristics.
IATF 16949 is the Quality Standard for the automotive industry, which includes the fundamental requirements for a quality management system for the automotive industry and the organizations that produce the relevant service parts. The purpose of the standard is to focus on permanent improvements with an emphasis on preventing defects and reducing variations and losses across all processes.
IATF 16949 is an innovative document that sets a strict focus on the consumer, with the inclusion of a number of consolidated prior specific requirements of leading European manufacturers.
The availability of the IATF 16949 certificate is a prerequisite for the supply of components to assembly lines of the world’s automobile manufacturers.
